Summary: For a natural bronzing
Description: Tree with leaves and with pink flowers or whites
and in flowers and in capsules of red fruits.
Environment and culture: Native from rain forests of America and Antilles.
It becomes enlightened nevertheless in Asia particulary in India. Seeds are
collected in bloom.
Used parts: Seeds, leaves, root.
Constituents: Bixin (a coloring principle carotenoïdes), essential oil, tanins.
History: Indians from South America used rocou to reflect the body in red.
Manners: Rocou is often used to prepare skin for bronzing (by protecting it from ultraviolet) and help it to sunbathe. It gives a very beautiful tint. Furthermore, this plant looks after fevers, after epilepsy, after dysentery and it would be also aphrodisiac.
Effects: Help to t bronze, anti-oxidizing.
Preparation: internal or external usage for skin. (Infusion or oil to be applied).
