Scientific name: Viscum album
Summary: The druidic panacea
Description: Shrub lives as a parasite(causes interference)
forming "balls" with evergreen leafs and with the white berries on trees.
Environment and culture: Native from Europe and the North's Asia
Used parts : leaves, branches, berries.
Constituents: Glucoproteines, polypeptides, flavonoïdes, acid, lignanes, alcaloïdes, saponines...
History: In Scandinavian mythology, Baldr, kindness' god, killed by a mistletoe's rameu is confided(entrusted) to the Love's godess and he became compulsory to kiss itself under this plant. Where from the tradition. The druids made medical manners of it and in certain rites.
Manners: Mistletoe is used as anxyolitic and hypnotic because it relieves fears, head troubles and stimulates concentration, but also to trait prostatism. On the other hand, it can be prescribed against epilepsy, ringing in the ears and hyperactivity at the children. It would treat also bleedings with congestive tendencies, and maybe the cancer according to the current researches.
Effects: defences immunizing's stimulant, anxyolitic and hypnotic.
Warnings: Mistletoe is toxic, also to respect the dosages.
Preparation: 1 or 2 pinched by mistletoe by cup of water. Take 2 cups a day.
