Scientific name: Crataegus oxyacantha
Summary: Hawthorn is used particularly
for circulatory and cardiac confusions as pectoris' angina.
Description: Shrub buissonnant and
thorny with big leaves and in the white flowers and red berries.
Environment and culture: Crataegus oxyacantha is cultivated and shoot to wild state in all moderate regions of north hemisphere.
Used parts : Flowers, berries, branches.
Constituents: flavonoides, triterpenes,
glucosides, amines, coumarines, tanins.
History: Symbol of the hope at medieval's
epok, it was known for its medicinal virtues.
Manners: Look after kidney stones.
Advised for the cardiac insufficiencies, looks after anginas pectoris and
after the confusions of the heart rhythm. Regulate the blood pressure In association
with the ginkgo, stimulates the intellectual traffic and improves the memory.
Effects: tonic cardiac, vasodilateur,
relaxing, antioxidizing.
Preparation: Infusion, alcoholic paint, decoction
Directions for use: 1 teaspoonful
of it in a cup with hot water : 2 to 3 cups a day.
