Name: Greenbrier
Scientific name: Smilax spp.
Other names: Smilax, Zarzaparilla,
sarsaparilla, pricking bindweed.
Summary:Sexual tonic and depurative
Description: Climbing plant with oval leaves and with small greenish
flowers.
Environment and culture: Native from Mexico, it grows in the wet rain
forests. Today, it is cultivated in Central America, in Asia and in Australia.

Constituents: Saponins sterolices, phytosterols, starch, resin, sarsapic acid and mineral salts.
History: In Mexico it is used it for a lot of troubles, it was imported in Europe further to discovery of the New World.
Information:
Manners: Greenbrier treats very well cutaneous affections (eczema, psoriasis, syphilis, herpes, itches...) and complete treatments of rheumatisms and degenerative osteoarthritis. On the other hand, it is a powerful sexual tonic . it helps blood circulation, in genital organs and increases sexual pleasures and orgasms. to man, it favors the production of sex hormone, while favoring the increase of muscular mass and relieves impotence. To woman, greenbrier stimulates the production of progesterone, treats premenstrual syndrome and menopause's confusions. It is said that it would be one of the most powerful aphrodisiac for female. it is used also against ureas' excesses and the associated confusions (vomit, headaches, thirst, dizzinesses...).
Effects: Depurative, diuretic, tonic sexual, aphrodisiac.
Preparation: Decoction: 50 in 100g by liter of water. Boil 10mn and infuse 10mn.
Directions for use: 3 cups a day before meals.
