Name: Evening Primrose
Scientific name: Oenothera biennis
Other names : Fever Plant, King's Cureall, Night Willow-herb,
Scabish, Scurvish, Sun Drop
Summary: Evening Primrose is very effective against all menstrual confusions.
Description: Plant with stalk speckled with red, and in yellow
flowers.
Environment and culture: Native from North America, it spread in numerous
moderate regions.
Used parts : Leaves, bark, seeds.
Constituents: Oil rich in fatty acid essential, tanin, mucilage, phytosterols...
Manners: It treats numerous premenstrual syndromes (irritablility, mammary tension, keeping back of water...) as well as the painful periods. It has as a beneficial effect on cardio-vascular system, but as in case of digestive confusions (states inflammatory, a gastro-enteritis, gastric cramps...) or of asthma.
Effects: Painkiller of pneumogastric, antispasmodic, antiphlogistique.
Warnings: Avoid in case of epilepsy.
