Description: Tree with dark worm
and white leaves - yellowish flower.
Environment and culture: Africa, Brazil, Antilles.
Used parts: Seeds.
Constituents: Caffein 2 %, theobromin,
kolanin , a glucoside.
History: For centuries, in Africa,
cola tree is a part integral of the life of western and central Africa. Cola
tree has of the being introduced in South America and in the Antilles by African
slaves.
Manners: Cola nut is chewed for its
aphrodisiac, digestive and tonic properties.
Effects: Stimulate nervous system
andbody. Tonic muscular, fights lethargy. Burn fats. Aphrodisiac.
Warnings: do not absorb kola if one suffers from stomach ulcer, from palpitations or from high blood pressure.
Preparation: It is possible to chew slowly nuts (between 3 and 8 a day) or take them in infusion (4 to 8g a day, 1 or several cups).
