Other names: False box tree
Summary: Bearberry is one of the best natural urinary antiseptic.
Description: Bush with green leaves- bored with pink flowers and with
red fruits.
Environment and culture: Europe's native, bearberry acclimatizes in
arctic or wet regions. It is harvested in autumn.
Used parts: leaves and berries.
Constituents: Arbutine, tanins, triterpènes, flavonoïdes...
History: Bears are crazy about bearberry's berries, that's why this plant is called bearberry. Bearberry is listed for the first time in a Welsh herbarium to the XVIII-th. On the other hand, American Native Indians smoked a leaves' mixture, composed of bearberryand tobacco.
Information: Effect of the plant has a synergic effect associated with a diet.
Manners: It is used to disinfect urinary system (in case of cysctite, uretrite, urinary infection) but also, inflammation of urinary ways, incontinence and urine retention.
Effects: antiseptic, antiputrid and sedative diuretic of urinary ways, astringent.
Warnings: Disadvised during pregnancy or feeding, but also in case of infection renal. Do not use more than 8 days of sharpened. Infusion can provoke sicknesses which can be avoided by adding mint's leaves toinfusions.
Preparation: Infusion: 10 in 15g leaves for a liter of water. Drink the liter in 24 hours.
